Accessibility Statement

Granular Volume is made by one developer. That is not an excuse for an inaccessible site, but it does shape how this statement is written: everything below was tested rather than assumed, and where something has not been tested it says so.

The standard we aim at

This website aims to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA, the conformance level referenced by Israeli Standard 5568 and by the European Accessibility Act.

Conformance status: partially conformant. Partially conformant means most of the standard is met and some parts are not yet. We are not claiming full conformance, because that claim has not been earned by a formal audit.

What has been done, and verified

Checked on September 7, 2026, page by page, across all pages of this site:

• Every image carries a text alternative.
• Body text sits at a contrast ratio of about 17.8:1 against its background, and secondary text at about 7.7:1. Both exceed the AA requirement of 4.5:1, and both meet AAA.
• Every page declares its language, including the German, Spanish and French pages, so a screen reader pronounces them correctly.
• Headings run in order, with a single first-level heading per page, so a screen reader can be used to navigate by structure.
• Every page has a "skip to the main content" link as its first keyboard stop, in the language of that page.
• Every page has a main landmark, so assistive technology can jump straight to the content.
• Keyboard focus is always visible, as a high-contrast outline around whatever is focused.
• The site is plain HTML and CSS. It works without JavaScript, it reflows to any window size, and text can be enlarged with the browser's own zoom without content being lost.
• Nothing on the site moves, flashes, plays automatically or times out.

Browsers and assistive technology

The site is plain HTML and CSS with no framework, so it depends on nothing exotic. It is expected to work in the current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, on desktop and on Android and iOS, and it respects the operating system's reduced-motion setting.

• Tested on September 7, 2026: keyboard-only navigation in Chrome on Windows, including the skip link, focus order and focus visibility, on every page.
• Not yet tested: a full pass with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack, and testing at 200% browser zoom on small screens. The structure those tools rely on is in place, but that is not the same as having run them.

Known limitations, stated plainly

These are the parts we know are not finished. If one of them stands between you and something you need, write to us and we will send you that content in a form that works for you.

• No formal audit. The checks above were done by the developer, not by an independent accessibility auditor, and not with a full assistive-technology test matrix.
• Screen readers have not been tested end to end. The structural work that screen readers rely on is in place, but no full pass has been done with NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver.
• The brand purple used on buttons reaches a contrast ratio of about 4.45:1. That satisfies AA for large text and interface components, and it is not used for small body text, but it does not reach AA for small text.
• Videos on the site are embedded from YouTube and are used as illustration. Captions on them are provided by YouTube rather than authored by us, and no audio description track exists. Nothing on this site depends on a video to be understood.
• Pages in German, Spanish and French received the same structural work as the English pages, but their text has not been reviewed by a native speaker for plain-language clarity.

About the app itself

This statement covers the website. The Android app is a separate piece of software, and honesty is worth more here than a reassuring sentence:

• The app's on-screen controls carry spoken labels for TalkBack, including the close button, the information button, the mute button, the louder control and each volume step.
• The app has not been formally audited for accessibility, and it has not been fully tested with TalkBack in real use. We are not claiming it is accessible.
• If you use a screen reader or a switch device and the app does not work for you, please tell us. That is a bug report we want, and it will be treated as one.

How this statement is kept honest

It was prepared on September 7, 2026 after an actual review of this site, not from a template. It is reviewed when the site changes materially and at least once a year. Every page added to this site is expected to carry the same skip link, main landmark and visible focus indicator described above.

If we ever claim full conformance here, it will be because an audit was done and can be pointed at.
